weekending

Ah... the weekend. These have truly become my favorite days. Not because I dislike what I'm doing Monday through Friday, but because I do like what I'm doing Monday through Friday, and that allows me to enjoy my Saturday and Sunday. And on Saturday and Sunday, I get to enjoy the most quality time with my favorite human and favorite puppy. 

Typically, we both have a few things we want to accomplish with our time, but we also both really appreciate just having some one on one time together, however it is that we choose to spend it. Friday nights have become our date nights, which again could be spent at home or going out to dinner. We have decided to do another Whole30 because of how amazing we both felt the first round, and we are definitely making wiser choices and crave those good foods, and that means more nights in and cooking dinner together. Ok, mostly Cassidy cooking, and me watching and chatting. Quality time, regardless. 

I am really excited to take on another Whole30 because of how healthy my body felt, but also because I have more ground to gain on my goals. I'm going to be honest with you, reviewing these photos from this shoot actually inspired me to keep going because this is a set of photos I could visibly see the results following the first round of 30 days we completed. I feel trimmer, leaner, and less bloated. I did lose weight, but I feel good, and I feel like I look good, and that makes me so much more confident. It's so crazy how you don't realize how bad you feel until you feel good, and how much disparity there is between the two sides of the spectrum. Now I can recognize how foods impact me so much better. 

So our upcoming weekends will again include lots of meal prep and planning, which I'm very much looking forward to! Brunch is my favorite weekend past time, and as much as I love a good brunch spot, fixing it at home with my hubby is pretty sweet too.

We had a brief moment of Spring in Indy this week, and it has me extremely excited for this season's line at Anthropologie. 

This blouse is extremely soft, and from one of my favorite vendors, Cloth + Stone. Be sure to check it out because even though I didn't snag any photos, the back detailing is on point. This tote is also so cool because the front actually pulls out into a clutch. How's that for versatility? Not to mention I'm absolutely obsessed with the pants and I think I'm going to need to wear them to work basically everyday, but I love that I could totally wear them with some slip on sneakers and a graphic tee.

Trend alert: This Spring is all about the pants. Now if only this weather would get back on my team.

saturday like a boss

Sometimes my post titles are witty. Sometimes I have a hard time coming up with something creative. And sometimes my husband comes up with something funny that I can't resist typing out. Hence, today is Saturday like a boss. Haaayyyyy.

This has been a really long week. A really hard week in a lot of ways. I have been challenged and felt incredibly strong attacks from the enemy. This week has also been a week filled with successes, and it has been difficult to not let the negativity overcome what should be celebrated. But regardless of the opposition, I will find strength in my Jesus, because HE has already overcome. And I will wear the sequins, the faux fur, and the leopard.

Saturday, like a boss.

I love that there's a day not only for our significant others and loved ones, but to specifically recognize the important friendships and celebrate the special females in our lives. 

This has been a fabulous year for developing deeper relationships with some of my pals, and I am continually reminded how blessed we are to be a part of itown church. Small groups have been such an integral part of growing not just spiritually, but relationally. I am so thankful for the women that continue to encourage and challenge me, and that I get to do the same for them.

Meet Alex, she's beautiful, crazy and is going to do big things in this world using her gifts. Plus she's always down for a photo shoot and a good laugh. 

I was also blessed to live on a floor in college with a bunch of girls who remain as some of my best friends to this day. They've seen me at my best and at my worst, and I love that we've gotten to grow up together, and continue to be there for each other's biggest moments.

I also have had the privilege to work with some incredible women this year. Women that are motivated by impacting the lives of students and enhancing a campus culture.

Last but most certainly not least, I am thankful for the women in my family. Women that are fighters. Women that I have the privilege to share names with. Women that inspire me, love me, pray for me, and that I consistently admire.

So cheers to gals, cheers to what makes us each unique, and to the beauty of friendship. Ladies, let's take every opportunity to celebrate each other.
